I knew Jules very well for about the last 10 years of his life. He mentioned to me several times that he was “waiting for a book to be published”, but it wasn’t being done on time.
Jules was not well off financially and he needed the money from the sales of “the book”.
I doubt he would have cavalierly given away his work to someone to do whatever they wanted with it while in the meantime Jules was starving.
I don’t know if this is it, or not, but it seems like it.

I do not even know Oz. I am simply posting information I find out and can verify through reliable sources. There have been no posts about it since because my information has been just as scarce.

As for John Carney, my initial attempts to talk to the man gave an impression worse than Gary Kurtz gave to me. Admittedly, this was at a time when he seemed to be burned out and was not really “into” the magic as his performances at the time (at the Castle) seemed to show. Since then, he has improved slightly, but for the most part, I would avoid dealing with the man myself.

And if you re-read the post, the offer was made to John to help publicize his lecture and put some things together for him since the person John contacted knows his own magic community. And John refused the offer, wishing to do it himself. As an epilogue, hardly anyone knew his lecture was even happening and it was poorly attended.

I am not saying not to help fellow magicians. But, if one refuses the help, then asks for it later, I would not just give it away at that point.

Did Oz pay you to list his dvd set. Your bitching about Carney gives me the belief you don’t like helping a fellow magician unless he pays you. I bet if you askes John Carney if he could show you a sleight or a line, he would noy refer you to buy his video. Thats just my thought. I’ve known John for quite some time and he has always been gracious and kind.Dan

What’s it all about?

You enjoy provoking a fight. I think that’s lame. That’s it.

Otherwise, I think you are a perfectly fine individual. You are usually easy enough to talk to. You usually perform entertaining and strong magic. Perhaps there will be other aspects I will also find lame, but you have not yet revealed them to me.
